hello mates. i have a prob with my new ipod. I set it to manual update.

I downloaded a video in .divx format and converted it into .wmv format using the super converter. Now I converted it with super converter into .mp4 format. After that I placed it in the ipod directory through itunes 6. I ejected the ipod and I went like this from the main menu ---

Videos---->Movies---->video name.mp4

when i tried play the video it just kept on playing the audio while showing the first scene of the video with a little bit of details at the side.
So plz tell me that does it require some other kind of cable or wire to view it or there is a prob with my ipod.

Secondly I loaded a few wallpapers in it and I was able to view them but I have to role the click wheel to browse between the pics. I set the timer for each image display to 2 seconds and with a song but still I cannot view the images as a slideshow without rolling the finger over the wheel so plz help me with all this.

hey buddy ,i think we can go through ur prob !! ok lets try sumthing....hhmmm !! ok go for WINAVImp4 converter. i use tht for my ipod. try converting directly from .avi to ipod format !so far i think its just convertion prob. no prob with ur ipod. try WINAVImp4 then tell me . it works or not ? gud luck buddy ! bye take care !

yesterday I read that the the TV out should be turned off if we hear the audio but cannot see the video. And there are a few particular settings of the file that is converted like this

H.264
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
Video: Up to 768 kbits/sec, 320 x 240, 30 frames per second (fps), Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, and stereo audio.

MPEG-4
File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov
Video: Up to 2.5 Mbits/sec, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile.
Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, stereo audio.

So what now ? I am sorry it was not avi , it was in the divx format. I downloaded the motorokr video from the music video section.

You got to convert the video to an ipod friendly format. There are many such converters. Look out for them.
